Congress declares candidates for MLC polls
The Congress party on Monday declared candidates for three vacant MLC seats which are going to polls on May 31.
Hyderabad: The Congress party on Monday declared candidates for three vacant MLC seats which are going to polls on May 31.
While Mohan Reddy will be the candidate from Ranga Reddy Local Authorities' Constituency, Komatireddy Lakshmi Reddy from Nalgonda and Venkatarami Reddy from Warangal will be the official candidates.
The last date for filing nominations for these polls is May 14. The polling for all three seats will be held on May 31 and results will be declared on June 3.
The Congress party has decided to approach the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the MLC elections due to non-publication of electoral rolls by the Election Commission of India. However, it has decided to field the candidates in case it fails to get any relief in the Supreme Court.
