LB Nagar: Protesting over the arrest of Member of Parliament and Telangana Congress Working President A Revanth Reddy on Thursday, Congress leaders and activists burnt effigies of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister K T Rama Rao at LB Nagar Circle on Friday.

It may be recalled that Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Cyberabad police on Thursday, and sent to judicial remand for 14 days. The arrest was in connection with a suo motu case filed by the Cyberabad police against the Malkajgiri MP, allegedly violating privacy by taking photographs and visuals of a farmhouse allegedly owned by Minister K T Rama Rao in Janwada village on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The Congress MP was booked along with 10 other persons on Wednesday by the police for allegedly hiring a drone for a photoshoot of the private premises and releasing it to the media.

Revanth, who was in Delhi at the time the case was booked, arrived in Hyderabad post-noon on Thursday and 'surrendered' at Narsangi police station. The agitators said it was foolish on the part of the government to think no one would question irregularities in the administration by arresting one leader. "People will teach the father-son duo a lesson," they added.

Congress T PCC secretary G Bhaskar Yadav, State INTUC president Dhan Raj, Congress women wing president for Rangareddy district K Sujatha Reddy, Satyanarayana, Gudala Srikanth, Sandeep Kumar, Kishore, Ugadi Shiva, Saddam Khan, Sampath Yadav, Upender, Balram, Golla Bhaskar, Manoj Yadav, Rani, Sai and others were present. Police arrested about 100 agitators.

Activists burn effigies of KCR, KTR

Nacharam: Congress leaders and activists under the leadership of the party's Uppal Constituency in-charge Ragidi Lakshma Reddy burnt the effigies of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Minister K T Rama Rao here on Friday. They were protesting against the arrest of Malkajgiri MP T Revanth Reddy.

Lakshma Reddy demanded that the State government to clarify the illegal arrest of the MP. He also demanded immediate release of Revanth Reddy. He expressed his ire stating that the government was trying to crush the voice of the people questioning irregularities.

The party leaders Krishna Reddy, Bullet Srinu, Naveen Reddy, Ram Reddy, Nuthalakanti Raju, Fasiuddin, Zakir, Mahesh Yadav, Krishna Yadav, Sanjay Jain, Ganesh Naik, Malu Naik and others were among those present.
