The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s Core Committee has decided to appoint in-charges to 30 Assembly constituencies which do not have MLAs and contested candidates to face the upcoming municipal elections.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's Core Committee has decided to appoint in-charges to 30 Assembly constituencies which do not have MLAs and contested candidates to face the upcoming municipal elections.

The Core Committee met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of AICC in-charge general secretary RC Khuntia. AICC in-charge secretaries, PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and Core Committee members participated in the meeting.

According to sources the Core Committee has discussed the ongoing strike of the TSRTC, ensuing municipal elections and the AICC nationwide campaign against bad economic policies of the Modi government.

As far as municipal elections are concerned, the members of the Core Committee have decided to complete the appointment of in-charges to all the Assembly Constituencies.

The in-chares would select the candidates for the councillor seats in consultation with the district committee presidents, MLA, MPs, contested candidates of the MLA and MP seats.

The Core Committee has extended its support to the TSRTC workers who are on strike for the past 25 days. The Committee called upon the leaders and cadres to participate in the public meeting proposed by the RTC JAC.

The Committee made it clear that the deaths of the RTC workers were murders of the government and announced its support to the kin of the deceased RTC employees.

TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy has informed the programme schedule and asked the DCC presidents to organise press conferences in the district headquarters regarding the bad economic policies of the BJP led government at the Centre on November 6.

He said that dharnas should be organised on the same subject in front of the collectorates on November 8. Padayatra would be held on November 15 from Gandhi Bhavan to Hyderabad collectorate.

Meanwhile, the meeting has seen some fireworks in the form of allegations by AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao. He entered into an argument with AICC in-charge general secretary RC Khuntia.

Sources said that VH questioned the attitude of some leaders who came from other parties. He said that those leaders have been openly publicising that they would become TPCC chief and Chief Minister if Congress forms government.
