Congress to crank up Huzurnagar campaign
Most of the senior Congress leaders would campaign for the party candidate in the Huzurnagar by-election after Dasara to improve the prospects of winning the seat.
Hyderabad: Most of the senior Congress leaders would campaign for the party candidate in the Huzurnagar by-election after Dasara to improve the prospects of winning the seat.
Several senior leaders, who have been differing with each other, would come together to fight for the victory of the party candidate.
The campaign for the bypoll would end on October 19 and the party would have about nine days after Dasara for canvassing. The polling would be held on October 21.
Party MPs A Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, CLP leader in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, former LOP in Assembly K Jana Reddy, former LOP in Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir and others would take up the campaign.
Already working president Ponnam Prabhakar completed one round of canvassing.
AICC general secretary and incharge of State Congress RC Khuntia said that all the top leaders of the Congress would be campaigning in Huzurnagar.
However, it is not known whether veteran film star and Congress senior leader Vijayashanti would hold campaign. She is keeping herself away from the party activities since the completion of general elections to the Parliament.
Party leaders believe that people are not happy with the ruling of TRS in the second term. This was exhibited in the elections to the Parliament and in the MLC polls.
The party is also focusing its campaign on TRS candidate Saidi Reddy and trying to drive home the point among the people of Huzurnagar that he was not a local. Few leaders of Congress said that Saidi Reddy was not native of Telangana.
PCC president and MP from Nalgonda, N Uttam Kumar Reddy who is spearheading the campaign is banking upon the development achieved during his two terms period in Huzurnagar.
He has been stating that the constituency achieved lot of development in the past 10 years and in order to continue it the people should elect Congress once again. He has been camping in Huzurnagar for the last one-and-a-half month.
The senior Congress leaders, who would campaign in Huzurnagar, are likely to focus on the unkept promises of the TRS in the past five years.
They would tell the people how the ruling party ignored implementation of its promises like crop loan waiver, construction of double bedroom houses, allowance to unemployed youth and others.
The Congress wants to expose the government on the burgeoning debt and how the State was made to become bankrupt under the rule
of TRS.
