Congress to hold Rajiv Gandhi 75th birth anniversary celebrations
The Telangana Congress would hold the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on August 20 on a grand scale and TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy issued instructions to the leaders in this regard.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress would hold the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on August 20 on a grand scale and TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy issued instructions to the leaders in this regard.
He held a meeting with the senior leaders of the party at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday and discussed the nitty gritty of the programme. The meeting was attended by treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy, working president Ponnam Pabhakar and others.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has also requested the State units to hold the birth anniversary of Rajiv on a large scale. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal has written a letter in this regard to PCC presidents. In the letter, he said the Congress is celebrating the 75th birth anniversary of Rajiv on August 20, 2019 in all the States in a befitting way.
He said that national level grand celebrations are being organised on August 22, 2019 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. He said that a logo has been prepared for the celebrations and asked the PCCs to use it in all the advertisements and programmes.
At the meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam said that on August 20, Rajiv Sadbhavana Rally would be held from Rajiv statue at Panjagutta at 9 am under the leadership of AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao.
He said that at 11 am the Congress sister organisations would hold various activities. The Youth Congress would hold a big blood donation camp. The NSUI would hold essay writing competition at Nizam College.
