Hyderabad: The core committee meeting of Congress party has patted president Sonia Gandhi for successfully bringing pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to desist from signing the RCEP pact at Bangkok.

The meeting was held at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.

The former minister of Karnataka State HK Patil presided over the meeting.

The AICC State in-charge RC Khuntia, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC secretaries Bosu Raju, SA Sampath Kumar and Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy, TPCC working presidents Ponnam Prabhakar and Kusuma Kumar, MLAs D Sridhar Babu, T Jagga Reddy, Podem Veeraiah and party leaders took part in the meeting.

The meeting has decided to lay siege the Collectorates on November 8 in all the districts. It has also taken a decision to hold a similar programme in front of Hyderabad District Collector's office on November 16.
