Contract teachers stage protest at ITDA office

Bhadrachalam (Khammam): Contract teachers in various Ashram schools under the Integrated Tribal Development Agency ( ITDA) on Monday staged a protest at ITDA office.

Nearly 250 teachers participated in the protest programme. They climbed onto the ITDA office roof in support of their demands.

The demands included regularisation of their services and withdrawal of notification for recruitment of teachers.

The teachers, who are in service for the last 15 years in the department, were ignored and notification was issued for recruitment of teachers.

Project Officer V P Gowtham called the agitating teachers to his chamber and discussed with them. The teachers appealed to the officials to protect their interests.
