Narayanpet: Superintendent of Police Dr Chetana, while taking part in an awareness programme about the safety of girls and women organised at a private function hall in Kosgi mandal of Narayanpet district on Wednesday, said that the women, particularly the girls, should become bold and must shed their fear about police and should call police whenever they are under threat or fear.
The Kosgi Circle Inspector, Prem Kumar, organised a meeting with the girl students from schools, colleges, Anganwadi teachers and Asha Workers, where the SP of Narayanpet was the chief guest and addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, the SP said, "The growing incidences of violence among girls and women are creating a fear of insecurity in the society. We want to remove this insecurity among the people and ensure you all that the police are always at your service to provide security to you whenever and wherever you need it. We want the girls and women to move freely in a fearless environment. Many are having the misconception of fear from police, but we have today come forward to take you out from the fear and give you security. The Narayanpet police is taking all measures to ensure stern action is taken against anyone who resorts to violence or harms the girls or women."
The SP urged the girls and women to dial the numbers 100, 112 and 1091 to inform the police about any kind of untoward incidents. The police will respond swiftly and ensure your safety, said the SP. DSP Madhusudhan Rao of Narayanpet, Sub-Inspector Nagaraju and Mandal Education Officer Anjalidevi attended the meeting.
