Cops take up corrective measures to avoid accidents in Mahbubnagar
The Mahbubnagar police have started taking corrective measures post the aftermath of recent Midjil incident where 13 agriculture labourers lost their lives, by conducting awareness camps at village, mandal and district headquarter levels across the district.

Mahbubnagar Superintendent of Police Rema Rajeshwari has given instructions to all police station officials to conduct a comprehensive awareness campaign about the risk of accidents by travelling in overloaded and high-speed moving vehicles. As per the directions, the police officials have sent their teams to different areas and villages to spread the awareness and risk of travelling in private overloaded vehicles.
"Of late, we have been witnessing a large number of road accidents, where in women, children and even the youngsters are losing their lives. We have decided to spread awareness among general public about the risks of travelling in overloaded auto-rickshaws. We have also instructed the police station officials across the district to book cases against those violating road safety and traffic rules. We will take stringent action against vehicle owners if they are caught with overloads and violating speed limits," said Rema Rajeshwari, while explaining about the measures being taken up by the police department to contain the road accidents.
The police officials are meeting general people, school students and even the agriculture labourers who are going to farmlands and explaining them about the risks of travelling in overloaded vehicles. The police officials are explaining to the public by showing the news cuttings from newspapers about the recent accidents and how their families, children and other dependants got devastated after the death of their loved ones. In view of the above, the police have been advising the public to take extra care while travelling, and avoid accidents.
