Karimnagar: Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy ordered the police officials to file bind-over cases against those, who indulge in anti-social activities.

He held a meeting with the police officials in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections, at Police Commissionerate in Karimnagar on Monday. Speaking at the meeting, the Police Commissioner said that around 493 bind-over cases were filed against persons involved in various criminal activities and the time period of these bind-over cases will end in a few days. He ordered the police officials to file bind-over cases against them again along with imposing a penalty of Rs 1 lakh and six months imprisonment against those, who violate bind-over rules.

The cops were ordered to remove flexis, cut-outs and banners that were erected at government offices and government lands within 24 hours along with conducting vehicle checking at various locations under the Commissionerate limits.

He told them to create awareness among the people about the importance of right to vote along with action that would be taken against those, who lure the voters with money and liquor. Arrange tight security to prevent untoward incidents and to conduct Lok Sabha elections on a peaceful note. Additional DCP S Srinivas, ACPs P Ashok, T Usha Rani, T Krupakar, Prasad Rao, Shoban Kumar, Srinivas, Regya Nayak and Shiva Bhaskar were present.
