Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Sunday said that the district is able to control the spread of coronavirus thanks to the efforts of officials and cooperation of people.
The Minister along with local municipal chiefs Annapurna, Putta Kishore and MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav inaugurated 12 decentarlised vegetable markets in the town. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that keeping the bitter experience of centralized vegetable market which stood as the epicentre for corona cases in the town, covering 3 to 4 wards, 12 new vegetable markets are established in the interest of the people of the town.
The Minister informed that as many as 83 corona positive cases were registered in the district, of them 56 were recovered and discharged and remaining 27 patients have been recovering successfully and added that no one was kept on ventilator. The Minister added that medical and vegetable shops which were open during the lock down 1.0 in the interest of people led to register corona positive cases in the town.
