Corona update: 593 fresh cases, 3 deaths in Telangana

Telangana registered 593 fresh coronavirus cases and three new deaths until 8 pm on Sunday. The cumulative number of cases touched to 2,69,816 while the fatalities reached 1,458. Meanwhile, the recovery cases went up to 2,58,336 with 1,058 persons testing negative for the virus in a single day.

At present, there 10,022 active cases out of which 7,946 are in home or institutional isolation.

Between Saturday and Sunday, around 33,040 tests were conducted including 14,537 on primary contacts and 3,964 are on secondary contacts. However, the results of 593 samples came positive and the reports of 364 are awaited. So far, 54,53,461 tests have been conducted by the government.

The positive cases reported across the state include 199 from GHMC, 61 from Rangareddy, 55 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 40 from Karimnagar, 39 from Warangal Urban, 33 from Sangareddy, 21 each from Khammam and Nalgonda, 18 each from Warangal Rural and Nizamabad, 17 from Peddapalli, 16 each from Jagtial, Suryapet, 15 each from Mahabubabad and Mancherial, 13 each from Kamareddy, 12 each from Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mulugu, 9 each from Nagarkurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal, 6 from Mahabubnagar, 5 each from Adilabad, Peddapalli and Medak, 4 from Siddipet, 3 from Jangaon, 2 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, one each from Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Nirmal and Narayanpet.
