A meeting was called on later with the officials over further preventive measures to take up in the district. The chief minister was supposed to visit Karimnagar today but was postponed due to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's video conference.

It is already known, the Karimnagar was locked down after eight foreigners who were on a religious visit to the district were tested positive of COVID-19. The eight patients who are a part of the 10-member team landed in Delhi last week from Indonesia and travelled to Ramagundam through AP Sampark Kranti express before visiting Karimnagar.

The group stayed in a mosque for two nights and were shifted to Gandhi Hospital after testing positive. The government asked the public to stay indoors and restricted the gathering of two or more people.
