Private labs in Hyderabad have voluntarily announced stalling COVID-19 tests in Hyderabad from July 2 to July 5. The labs decided to collect the samples for four days in order to train the staff and disinfect the labs.

It is known that the ICMR has accorded permission to the 18 private labs in Telangana to conduct COVID-19 tests. However, the central team which was on a visit to Hyderabad inspected the private labs and identified the flaws. The team asked all the private labs to sort out everything in 48 hours.

In the wake of it, all the private labs have decided to train the staff collecting samples and disinfect the labs. The labs stated that the only samples sent by the private hospitals will be tested and no samples from people will be taken at the labs for four days.

The services at the private labs will be resumed for the public from June 6. Meanwhile, there is no response from medical and health officials over the private labs' decision.
