Hyderabad: Telangana reported its first local transmission from a Covid-19 infected case on Saturday thus entering Stage-2. Son of a Dubai-returned passenger, who tested positive on March 19, was found to be infected with the virus on Saturday.

The 35-year old son is reportedly stable and being treated in Gandhi hospital, while other members of the family are under close watch of the medical personnel.

This case clearly calls for a strict isolation or quarantine at home for 14 days mandated by the Centre and state governments. Some people are not following the guidelines thus risking the lives of not only their closed ones but also several others. It is this carelessness on the part of the people which had led to the number of positive cases rising to 21 in the state.

It may be noted that until now Telangana has registered all positive cases of people who came from various foreign countries like Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Holland, Scotland, UK, etc. However, the 20th positive case (P-20) is that of a Hyderabad resident, who is closely related to an infected patient, with travel history to Dubai. This passenger came from Dubai to Hyderabad on March 14.
