CPI lends support to Konda Vishweshwar

Chevella: Communist Party of India extended its support to Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who is the Congress candidate for Chevella Parliamentary seat. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy met with Chada Venkat Reddy, the CPI State Secretary, and Aziz Pasha, former Rajya Sabha MP of CPI, at the CPI office on Monday. Both the CPI leaders agreed upon extending complete support of CPI to Konda Vishweshwar Reddy in Chevella, they will appeal to their cadre to work for him and ensure his victory.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishweshwar Reddy said, "they promised to extend their wholehearted support and we will henceforth work together on issues related to minorities, especially the ones plaguing them. Neither CPI nor Congress believe in deceptive announcements like 12% reservations for minorities. We will focus on issues and measures which genuinely benefit minorities and not mere eyewash announcements to corner their votes. In this elections the support of minorities for Congress is a necessity."

Aziz Pasha said Vishweshwar Reddy has a track record of working for all sections of people, irrespective of their caste or community. While KCR has been on a mission to corner the votes of all minorities. "I have one simple question for KCR, 12% reservation for minorities is pending in Delhi with Modi, but look at your own action, out of the 16 parliament constituencies you are contesting, at the rate of 12% you should have allocated 2 seats to minorities or at least one seat, this is within your purview and you are not in a position to implement. This clearly makes public your real intentions – such dual speak of yours is not good. Communist parties are the flag bearers of secularism and we will support such candidates who work strongly for secularism. Amongst all the candidates, Vishweshwar Reddy's track record in this aspect is blemish free."

Chada Venkat Reddy said Vishweshwar Reddy has appealed for support to him in these elections, "even our objective is to defeat BJP and defeat TRS. We have decided to support secular parties and candidates who are working for the people. Vishweshwar Reddy always committed himself to the good of the people. Even through his NGO he benefited the minorities in several aspects. KCR has always shed crocodile tears for minorities, he practically did nothing for them. He didn't even take Metro to old city, CPI took up a major agitation on this. He doesn't give pattas for land, nor does he construct double bedrooms, he hasn't done anything on the education and health front. We have decided to extend support support to a good candidate like Vishweshwar Reddy."
