Crocodile creates flutter among villagers of Wanaparthy

The reptile comes out of Jurala Left Canal as water level dips below the dead storage mark

Wanaparthy: A crocodile which emerged out of Jurala Left Canal created flutter among the villagers of Moolamalla village of Atmakur mandal in Wanaparthy district on Tuesday.

According to villagers, the Jurala Left Canal which had got dried up to dead level at some areas has led the crocodile to come out. As the crocodile roamed along the banks of the canal the people were frightened. The news of crocodile spread like a wild fire.

The villagers immediately informed the police and forest officials about the crocodile. With the help of police and forest officials the villagers tamed the crocodile by tying its mouth with a rope and later left it inside the deep waters of the left canal.

"The eight foot long crocodile came out of the canal as the water in the canal at some places has reached the dead level. Because of this it came out.

However, the alert villagers along with the forest officials caught it and released it into the canal," said the Atmakur police.
