Khammam: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which had a bitter experience with Khammam during the Assembly elections, is taking the upcoming Lok Sabha polls very prestigiously and making all out efforts to win them. After the Khammam debacle, it was speculated that TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao would take the responsibility of making the party strong in Khammam into his own hands. However, to everyone's surprise he entrusted the job to his trusted party worker and MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy. Nevertheless, KCR decided to participate actively in the campaign for party candidate Nama Nageswara Rao. As KCR set to address a huge public gathering in Khammam on Thursday, Palla Rajeswar Reddy speaks to The Hans India about the arrangements and the meeting.

Q: What arrangements have been made for CM's meet tomorrow?

A: We have made all necessary arrangements to have a safe meeting on Thursday. Over 2 lakh buttermilk packets and water packets have been ordered to supply to people who attended the meeting in view of hot summer. We took precautions to secure a safe entry and exit for everyone attending the meeting.

2Q: What is KCR's schedule for the day?

A: The Chief Minister will join the meeting at 5 to 5.30 pm after competing his meeting in Mahabubabad Parliamentary constituency. Arrangements have been made so that he will be able to directly deliver his speech as soon as he arrives. The speech might last for 45 minutes and all the major leaders will address the crowd before he arrives.

3Q: How many people are expected to attend the meeting?

A: A crowd of 1.50 lakh are expected and number could exceed. So, we have made necessary arrangements for accommodating around 2 lakh people.

4Q: Due to recent defections into TRS party, both the elected and defected leaders are working alongside in the party. Lack of coordination between leaders is imminent due to their ideological differences. How are you handling this?

A: It's true that there is a lack of coordination between our leaders as leaders from all the political parties i.e., CPI, CPM, Congress and TDP have joined the party. Despite their ideological differences, they are working hard to make our party successful in this election. Our leader (KCR) is the string that holds our leaders together.

5Q: Although the MLAs announced that they will join TRS party, they have not joined the party officially so far. Is there any chance of MLAs joining the party during Thursday's meeting?

A: Until the party officially takes the leaders in, the leaders are not part of the party. They might join officially in the presence of KCR or KTR in near future. But as of now they would attend the Thursday's meeting.

6Q: How do you respond to rumors that Ponguleti campaigned for Nama out of courtesy by attending few meetings but not fully invested in the campaign?

A: It isn't true that Ponguleti is not actively participating in the campaign. As there is another MP candidate in the race instead of him, he will only participate in the meeting that party requests him to.

He recently attended the meeting in Bonakal, Madhira, Karepally and Paleru. He will also be attending other campaign meetings supporting the candidacy of Nama.

7Q: Ahead of the meeting, what would you like to inform to the people of Khammam Parliament constituency?

A: As we all know regional parties are strong all over the country now.

This is the right time to take the power away from national parties like the BJP and the Congress. I would request all the people of Khammam district to attend the meeting and hear out KCR. If we are able to achieve 16 seats as we wished, Telangana State can force the Centre to give us the schemes that we demand and also can gain power at the Centre.
