District wrestlers strike gold in State Wrestling Championship in Karimnagar
The wrestlers belonging to Karimnagar made the district proud by winning several medals in the State level Senior Wrestling Championship which was held in Nizamabad.
Karimnagar: The wrestlers belonging to Karimnagar made the district proud by winning several medals in the State level Senior Wrestling Championship which was held in Nizamabad.
These competitions were organized on October19-20 at District Sports Authority Stadium.
Karimnagar District Amateur Wrestling Association president Thummala Ramesh Reddy and general secretary Mohammed Kareem informed that Karimnagar wrestlers won two gold, three silver, five bronze medals.
In women freestyle 55kg category Ch Mounkia, 57kg P.Shireesha won gold, in 53 kg M Mounika won silver medals. In Men's Freestyle category 61 kg Mohammed Shoaib,74 kg Suresh won bronze medals. Men's Greece Roman-style 60kg. A Vinay, 82 kg V Poorna Sai Akhil won silver, 67 kg.V Shivagopal, 72 kg N Vamshi, 77kg T Srikanth won bronze medals.
Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, District Youth and Sports Officer G Ashok, District Audit Officer Sarabudla Srikanth Reddy, District Olympic Association general secretary G Janardan Reddy, treasurer N Siddareddy, joint secretaries Mohammed Shafiuddin, Gannu Vijay Bhaskar Reddy congratulated the medal winners.
