Hyderabad: Notwithstanding the rising cost of fees, parents now are fuming as the cost of admission forms for admission into kindergarten has increased by leaps.
The forms cost anywhere between Rs 500 - Rs 1,500 and in certain places it costs Rs 2,000.
"We charge Rs 500 for the admission form.
We cannot guarantee the admission of the child as it depends on the various aspects and the fees per annum for UKG will be charged around Rs 82,000 which includes breakfast, lunch, tuition fee and various activities and parents have to pay extra money for transportation," says an official of Glendale Edufun Preschool.
Rakesh Srivastava, a parent and a chartered accountant, says, "There is no regulatory body for pre-schools as a result, managements are charging high fee."
In addition to this, kids have to go through the admission process where they are tested and analyzed whether they fit into their institution.
Parents also have to give interviews to the schools where they should reveal their economic background, salary, details about their education etc.
An employee from HPS Kidz Playschool, says "We do have formal interview with the child and the parents.
It helps us with the admission process as we have to go through a lot.
The annual fees we charge for UKG is around Rs 36,000 which will include books and uniform.
Greengables International school charges Rs 2, 22,800 as fees for UKG per annum also organizes interviews for children.
The admission form however is free of cost.
Seema Agarwal, a member of Hyderabad School Parents Association says, "A PIL has been filed regarding admission forms being expensive.
The court has not been clear about the decision on it, these schools are taking advantage."
