Excise officials arrest one cannabis peddler in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Excise enforcement arrested a cannabis peddler at Amran Colony in Pochampadu village on Sunday.

Excise Enforcement CI Deepika carried out searches based on credible information. Chandragiri Krishna, a peddler, was found carrying marijuana on his scooter when the excise team was doing a routine checking at Nehru Park in Pochampadu village.

Officials recovered 200 grams of cannabis as well as 11empty cigarettes from the accused Krishna. Sub-Inspecter Srujana, Head Constable Shankar, Constable Bhaskar, Ashanna, Sajid and Manju were involved in the inspection.

The accused had confessed that he would fill cannabis in empty cigarettes and sell them in the surrounding villages. On the orders of the Assistant Excise Superintendent, Deepika handed over the accused Krishna and seized items to the Armor police station.
