Fight against Centre, State's anti-labour policies: CITU
CITU district general secretary Noorjahan and AITUC district general secretary Mallaiah gave a call to the workers of all trade unions to participate in the nationwide general strike to be held on January 8, 2020 to make it a big success.
Nizamabad: CITU district general secretary Noorjahan and AITUC district general secretary Mallaiah gave a call to the workers of all trade unions to participate in the nationwide general strike to be held on January 8, 2020 to make it a big success.
It should be noted here that the National Open Mass Convention of Workers organised by ten Central Trade Unions and associations of various sectors called for a nationwide General Strike on January 8 next year against the anti-workers, anti-people, and anti-national policies of the Central and State governments.
Speaking at a meeting of the trade unions at CITU office in Nizamabad on Thursday, Noorjahan and Mallaiah said that the TRS government at the State and BJP government at the Centre has been anti-workers and caused problems to them. They criticised that the public sector industries tried to avoid trade unions. The leaders charged that labour laws are being changed in favour of wealthy investors. The Centre is reportedly planning to close the public sector companies even though they are making a profit of thousands of crores of rupees. They requested the general public to join their movement to support these public sector companies and industries.
Trade union leaders alleged that the government is shaking hands with the investors and completely destroying labour laws. They said that they will strongly protest against the governments for depriving the workers of their fundamental rights.
The leaders gave a call for the unity of the working class throughout the country and to participate in the strike to be held on January 8.
IFTU district secretary Dasu, TNTUC district secretary Kodi Narsimul, IFTU district secretary Bhaskar, IFTU (K) Rajyaiah, BFTU district secretary Mallikarjun, CITU district chairperson Palpu Venkatesh and AITUC district president Narsing Rao were also present at the meeting.
