Hanamkonda: ABVP activists staged a protest near Police Headquarters here on Thursday, demanding the State government filling of vacant posts in various departments. Speaking at the protest, ABVP national executive council member Naredla Praveen Reddy accused the TRS of betraying the people of Telangana on the aspirations of statehood movement pertaining to jobs.

"Only KCR family had benefited from the statehood while rest of the people, especially unemployed youth were left in the lurch," he said,

questioning the TRS government where has gone its promise to provide one lakh jobs.

He questioned the government's rationale over dillydallying in giving posting orders to 8,942 selected through Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT). This apart, the government is yet to fill vacant 5,074 junior lecturers, 1,350 degree lecturers, 542 MEO, 28 DEO and 1,796 university faculty posts.

On the other hand, a whopping 13 lakh youth have been waiting for the notification of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), he added. If the volume of vacancies in education sector is such, it's difficult to expect students come out of universities well learned, he said.

ABVP State working committee member Punnam Venu warned the government of heightening their agitation along with other student unions if it fails to address the unemployment. He said that ABVP continue its tirade against the TRS government by exposing its failures. Student leaders Balaraju, B Kiran, Praneeth, Chandu, Ajay, Rakesh and students were among others present in the protest.
