Nirmal: Stating that Telangana police department has taken a revolutionary step by making progress in criminal investigation with the help of technology, North Zone IGP Y Nagireddy directed the police officials to use modern technology to control crime.

On Tuesday, he inspected Nirmal rural circle as part of annual inspection and planted saplings on the station premises. Later, he verified records in the circle office and gave several suggestions to the staff.

The IGP said focus should be on proactive policing and should take precautionary measures with strategic planning using available technology rather than responding after a crime was committed. 'Police department has undergone significant changes in terms of technology and can move forward in the same spirit. Necessary steps are already taken to strengthen the information technology and cybercrime lab units with a view to control.'

IGP Nagireddy said people-friendly policing should be implemented to be accountable to the people, to the victims and to be accountable to the people without compromising their self-esteem. He said SHOs should monitor the implementation of functional verticals in police stations every day.

OSD Adilabad Y Rajesh Chandra, Additional SP A Ramreddy, DSP Upender Reddy, Nirmal Rural CI B Venkatesh, SBI inspector Y Srinivas, RIs, CIs, SIs and others were present along with the IGP.
