Venue has been shifted in view of severe summer conditions prevailing in city
Hyderabad: In view of severe summer, the venue for the Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2 has been shifted to Public Gardens lawns this year.
Earlier, the celebrations were organised at Parade Grounds. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also instructed the officers concerned to examine the possibilities of organising the Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations without causing any inconvenience to the people.
The Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting on conducting the State Formation Day celebrations on June 2 as well as other national festivals in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar proposed that instead of Parade Grounds, it would be better if these celebrations are held on the Public Gardens Lawns, opposite the Jubilee Hall. The officials informed the Chief Minister that there is a possibility of heatwave on the day of the State Formation Day.
The Schools have already declared holidays. The officials have been also instructed not to bring students to participate in the celebrations.
As per the schedule, the State Formation Day celebrations will commence at 9 am and continue till 10.30 am. After paying tributes, KCR will hoist flag and take guard of honour . After that the Chief Minister will deliver speech.
At 11 am there would be a Poets Meet with Telangana State Formation as the theme. In the evening there would be award presentation ceremony organised by the department of culture.
The Chief Minister suggested that the Public Gardens lawns should be decorated to give it a dignified look.
The invitees list has to be finalised. All officers of the state government are to be invited including the District Collector of Hyderabad.
Top most awardees in the State, top sportspersons, top poets, top writers, eminent poets, writers, eminent scholars, artistess in various fields, doctors, industrialists, IT experts, scientists, officials of Central institutions, Bar Association members, retired judges, various educational experts, freedom fighters, local MLAs, MPs, MLCs, Mayor, corporators, Speaker, all Corporation Chairperson, officials of Army, Navy, Airforce in Hyderabad and others will be invited.
