Fugitive Flees from Gandhi hospital Ward

A Fugitive who had been admitted in the hospital at the Priosners Ward of Gandhi Hospital, an under -trial prisoner accused in an attempt to murder case, escaped from the ward by cutting the prisons toilet's window grill with a hacksaw on Sunday night.

The Fugitive named Vickey from Mylardevpally, was arrested by local police and sent to judicial remand on December 28, 2018 for attempting to kill his wife. A case was booked against Vickey under IPC sections 307 ( attempt to Murder) and 498 A (Subjecting married Women to Cruelty).

Vickey was lodged at Cherlapally Central prison and on February 25, 2019, Vickey broke a tubelight in the prison and swallowed the broken pieces, after which prison authorities rushed him to Gandhi Hospital where he was admitted to the prisoners ward.

On sunday night Vickey went into the toilet on not coming out out after a very long time, the Armed Reserve security personnel posted there called him a few times. As there was no response from vickey, they opened the toilet door and found Vickey missing. Vickey cut the Window grill and removed it. He tied a water hose to the pipe in the toilet and used it like a rope, climed down from the window, said Chilkalguda SI B Raju Naik.

Vickey used the hose to escape which was put by the hospital authorities for water supply. " There are five Armed Reserve cops posted at the prisoners' ward we have to investigate how the prisoner managed to get a hawksaw into the ward, Additional commissioner (CAR) T Murali Krishna said.

Since the day he was admitted to Gandhi Hospital, Vickey's wife, Deepika, came to see him but since two days she has not visited him to the hosiptal said the SI. police have registered a case under his lawful apprehension of the IPC and have launched a manhunt to nab him.
