Gadwal farmer stumbles upon cannon while tilling

Gadwal: A farmer had stumbled upon a cannon of older times in his fields in Rajouli mandal of Gadwal district on Monday. According to sources, a farmer, Pochaiah, who was tilling his field on Monday found some metallic obstruction. Upon inspecting closely, the farmer found it to be a cannon used during older times in Gadwal kingdom. The field is located near Rajouli Fort area.

It is said that this fort was built by Gadwal kings during five or six centuries ago and the cannon could have been got buried deep in the soil. "I stumbled upon this metallic thing and immediately informed my relatives and later to the government officials. They had identified it as a cannon," said the farmer.
