Addressing a webinar organised by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU), she said that the onset of monsoon in Telangana appears around three days early than in the Eastern Ghats. And, the monsoon onset in the State will fall between June 16 and 24.

The PIK Professor predicted that Telangana state will receive rainfall of about 854mm during the ensuing monsoon period.

That apart, the onset of monsoon in Central India is expected to be delayed. There will be a deficit rainfall in Central and East and North East India according to Prof Elina's prediction.
