Hyderabad: The GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has handed over Rs 5 lakh compensation cheque to the family of Satyavani, the woman who was crushed to death in Biodiversity flyover mishap on November 23.

On the incident day, Satyavani was standing at the bus stop below the flyover when a speeding car jumped off the new flyover, crashed on the road and landed on her, where she died on the spot.

The deceased belongs to Pentapadu in the West Godavari district. The cheque named on her daughter Naga Pranita which was handed to her uncle Chakravarti at the GHMC office on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that Kubra Begum (23) of Anantapur, who also injured in the same accident, is receiving treatment at the Care hospital and towards her medical expenses GHMC has already paid Rs 3.50 lakh. He further assured that GHMC would bear all her costs until she completely recovered.
