Hyderabad: Rains accompanied with gusty winds lashed Hyderabad on Thursday. Madhapur-Hitec road, which is a major road in the IT corridor of city has been inundated by rainwater.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Disaster Management staff swung into action and cleared the water-logged roads using motors.

Roads near Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hitec, and Biodiversity to Cyber gateway were flooded adding to the commuters' woes. With construction activity taking place close to the main roads, there were no alternate routes provided for commuters.

While two-wheelers managed to cross through the flooded water, the commute time doubled up for four-wheelers and also for public transportation.

GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore alerted his Disaster Management staff and asked them to keep static pumps ready in the view of rainfall.

Also, Monsoon Monitoring Officers were asked to supervise the situation in the event of rainfall.
