Hyderabad: In view of jump in dengue cases in the last few weeks, the Health department has given instructions to all government hospitals to take steps to release dengue lab test report on the same day on which the sample is sent.
Now it's taking three days sometimes. Time is very important for starting treatment for the dengue positive cases and hence authorities want the test report to be released as early as possible.
The Elisa kit used for testing dengue can be used for 90 samples at a time. Hence the labs attached to the State hospitals are waiting for more samples to come to perform the test.
Special Chief Secretary Dr Shanti Kumari has given instructions not to wait for 90 samples but to go ahead even if there are also 60 or 70 samples for testing.
Also she wanted authorities to explore getting samples for 2 or 3 hospitals and conduct the test without wasting time.
