The government employees in Telangana may get a full salary for the month of May that is paid in June. It is learned that the officials are preparing the salary bills to pay the full salary and they are being sent to the treasury.
The state is said to have liquidity in May with the restarting of economic activity in May.
The Telangana employees' JAC chairman K Ravinder Reddy and secretary-general V Mamatha said that they requested the government to pay full salary for May. "All the government offices in the state are functioning with full strength from the first week of this month," they said.
On Saturday, the members of Telangana state employees, teachers, pensioners and contract employees union staged a protest demanding the state government pay full salary for May.
They complained that it has become difficult for them to manage the household with 50 per cent of salaries. They asked the Chief Minister to intervene and issue orders so that they get the full pay in June along with the arrears.
