Grateful KCR thanks Huzurnagar with funds
'KCR, you are right and go ahead', emboldens me, says CM
Huzurnagar: 'KCR, you are right and go ahead.' This is the message the people of Huzurnagar have conveyed to the TRS by voting in favour of party candidate Saidi Reddy with a huge majority.
People have given a slap on the face of Opposition parties who have been making senseless and baseless allegations against the government during the past one month," said Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, while addressing a huge gathering at the thanks-giving meeting in Huzurnagar on Saturday.
KCR felt the Huzurnagar result was not an ordinary one and it came as a big boost for the ruling party. Buoyed by the result, he announced Rs 100 crore plus bonanza at one go for the constituency.
He blamed the previous public representatives and governments for not developing the constituency. "Nothing has changed in Huzurnagar from the time he saw it in 1997, when he was the minister in NT Rama Rao's government. Irrigation and lift problems and lack of development plague Huzurnagar still," he rued.
"The roads in Huzurnagar municipality are in very bad shape and minister Jagadish Reddy had told me about it. With an aim to give a big makeover to Huzurnagar roads, drainage and sanitation and to make it a clean and green municipality, I announce Rs 25 crore from CM's funds. The only other municipality in Huzurnagar segment-Nereducherla will be given Rs 15 crore for its development and makeover," he said.
Earlier, KCR announced Rs 20 lakh each for the development of 134 Gram Panchayats and Rs 30 lakh each for the development of 7 mandal headquarters in Huzurnagar segment.
These apart, KCR announced a polytechnic college, residential ST school, Banjara Bhavan, revenue division status for Huzurnagar. In view of the presence of many cement factories, he said the ESI hospital request was justified and he would lobby with the Centre to make it a reality in Huzurnagar segment.
Commenting on Podu lands issue, KCR said the people in Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda and Nagarjunasagar segments are looking for a solution to it. The Chief Minister said that very soon he would be starting Praja Darbars, wherein he and all his ministers would come and solve all the issues.
He said he would also visit Huzurnagar-Kodad-Nagarjunasagar stretch and personally speak to farmers and people on issues concerning the Nagarjunasagar ayacut and try to address them.
"Government is ready to sanction funds and do whatever required to meet the irrigation needs," he said and directed minister Jagadish Reddy to take up a helicopter survey along with district representatives in the first week of November to assess the irrigation needs and also to identify places to construct lifts in co-ordination with the engineering experts in the erstwhile Nalgonda district just as they did for the Kaleshwaram project.
KCR also criticized Opposition leaders for making fun of Jagadish Reddy by terming him a 3-feet minister. "We never said Jagadish Reddy is seven-feet.
But whatever development being done in the district, including bringing Kaleshwaram water and Rs 30,000 crore Yadadri power plant, has to be appreciated. Even the seven-feet individuals from this area did not do anything while representing the segment," he said.
