Hanamkonda: Amid chaos triggered by the desertion of some key leaders from it, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Warangal district unit has put on a brave face, stating that it's not going to affect the party any way. The party leaders, who held a meeting here on Monday, downplayed the development as insignificant.
The meeting was presided over by Greater Warangal TDP general secretary Md Raheem and discussed about the developments.
The leaders reviewed division-wise in Warangal West constituency and come to a conclusion that entire cadre was with the party, even though some leaders have deserted the party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Even though leaders like Eega Mallesham, who was the party's State general secretary, and Pulluru Ashok Kumar, who was the State secretary and West constituency in-charge, have left the party, the TDP, which is cadre-based, is still strong,"they opined.
They came down heavily on Eega Mallesham and Pulluru Ashok Kumar, accusing them of enjoying party posts and monetary benefits from the party establishment.Leaders, who joined the BJP have some vested interests, and people will teach them a fitting lesson, they added.
Facing tempests of situations is not new for the TDP as it had seen many such turmoil since its inception, the leaders said. Further the leaders said that such situations have in fact galvanised the party cadres in the past.
Senior leaders Kampa Vinod Kumar, Sriramula Suresh, Kusuma Shyam Sundar, Margam Sarangam, Hanmakonda Sambaiah, M Manohar, Gollapally Eashwara CharyB Yakub, Kinnera Sudhakar and A Sathish were among others present.
