Hyderabad: The upper air trough from south madhya Maharashtra to the Comorin area across interior Karnataka and interior Tamil Nadu is extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level.

Conditions are becoming favourable for advance of the Southwest monsoon over the southern part of Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal during 18-19 May.

Meanwhile, in a warning to Telangana the Met department said on Wednesday that thunderstorms with gusty winds of 40-50 kmph and lightning are very likely to occur on May 16 in Ranga Reddy, among 14 districts in the State.

According to the bulletin, on May 17, 18 and 19, heat-wave conditions are likely at some pats in most places of all Telangana districts.

On Wednesday isolated rains occurred in Telangana covering 25 per cent of the areas. The highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nizamabad.

The other temperatures in the State were: Adilabad, Mahbubnagar, Medak & Nalgonda 43 each, Bhadrachalam & Ramagundam 42 each, Hanamkonda & Khammam 41 each, Hyderabad 40, Dundigal & Hakimpet 39 each.
