The police on Monday arrested a history-sheeter for allegedly assisting land encroachers.
Warangal: The police on Monday arrested a history-sheeter for allegedly assisting land encroachers. Commissioner of Police V Ravinder told the media persons here that they had arrested Bommati Vikram and seized two knives from him.
Vikram is one of the accused in the murder of corporator Anishetty Murali in 2017. He said that rowdy-sheeter Vikram is a habitual offender and was involved in several cases. He said the task force police arrested Vikram during a regular vehicle check near Kakatiya Degree College.
The CP said: "For the first time, the Warangal Commissionerate set up a special investigative cell headed by an ACP rank officer and two inspectors to focus on cases related to land encroachment." The special investigative cell to keep a tab on increasing number of cases on land encroachment, he said.
Vikram is an accused in a case related to land issue in which he threatened to kill one Satish, a resident of Warangal, besides damaging the latter's car. Central Zone DCP Narasimha, Taskforce ACP Chakravarthi, Hanamkonda ACP Sridhar, inspectors Nandiram Naik and others were present.
