Hyderabad: Victory of Huzurnagar by-election was like a tonic for the party, the TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday said after meeting the party leaders, who ensured victory of the party in Huzurnagar by-poll and hailed their efforts in wresting the seat from the Congress.

He stated that constituency people have given a correct reply to the propaganda, allegations and illogical questions raised by the opposition parties.

Rama Rao said that people have reposed faith in Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his governance and gave answer to the opposition, who have been criticising the government for some time.

"People of Huzurnagar have given a fitting reply to the propaganda of the opposition. We got to know strengths of all the political parties at local level in the State," said the TRS leader, adding the Congress had lost the constituency which belonged to TPCC chief.

He said that the BJP's victory in earlier election was because of wave and it has become clear that they don't have support at grassroot level.

"An independent candidate whose election symbol looked similar to that of the TRS party's symbol has got more votes than the BJP," he said.

Rama Rao mentioned that the party would show the gratitude to the people of Huzurnagar by fulfilling all the promises made by the TRS during the by-election.

He directed the MLAs to come up with a plan of action and take up the responsibility of leading the party towards victory in the upcoming municipal elections.

He thanked Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Jagadish Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and other party leaders and cadre for playing an important role in the party's victory.
