Hyderabad: In a bid to comply with the social distancing rules the State Education Department (SED) has arranged additional space in 334 examination centres in twin cities for the ensuing SSC examinations.

According to officials, there are 362 examination centres identified in the twin cities for the SSS examiantions to be held from June 8 to July 5, from 9.30 AM to 12 noon.

Speaking to The Hans India, a senior official of the Hyderabad District Education Office said, in all students will be giving their examination for 11 papers in six subjects.

As part of implementing the social distancing norms, the number of examination centres has been increased by adding additional space in the same premises of the existing examination centres. Or, in some cases the additional centres are located near to the existing examination centres, he added.

In case of only about 27 existing examination centres, the department found no necessity to make any additional space as adequate space is available to the number of students allocated.

Further, as per the process identified every additional examination centre will have an official, besides the invigilators.

The officials will collect the question papers, OMR sheets and answer scripts from the existing examination centre and the same will be handed over to the invigilators on duty at the additional examination centres.

Once the examination is over the officials have to collect and handover the same to the superintendent of the main examination centres.

In turn, they will be clubbed with the bundles of the main examination centres. This is to ensure that the OMR sheets and answer scripts of the students writing their examiantions in the additional examination centres are not mixed up, he added.

That apart, the students are already informed through WhatsApp, messaging and social media about the social distancing norms to be followed from the time of entering into the examination centre.

For example, a student will have to use sanitizer on their hands before coming into the examination centre and they will have to wear masks.

Though drinking water is provided, they are advised to bring their own water bottles. Similarly, they are asked to avoid touching their face, eyes, nose and mouth.

The students and teachers on the invigilation duties are also asked to ensure that they use sanitizers before taking and handing over the OMR sheets and answer scripts.
