With five fresh cases, the total number of coronavirus positive cases reached 12 at Nizam's Insitute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) at Punjagutta. Following the rise in coronavirus cases, NIMS board called on for an emergency meeting and likely to decide on Out-Patient services.

Meanwhile, three sanitation staff tested positive for coronavirus at King Koti hospital on Thursday which triggered panic among 70 sanitation workers. The primary contacts of patients and workers with coronavirus symptoms have been put under quarantine and tests are being done. On the other hand, the coronavirus cases among the PG medicos have been touched 44. They were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. The number of coronavirus cases among the medicos are expected to rise further.

On Wednesday, four resident doctors from Cardiology department and three sanitation staff have tested positive for the virus. The doctors advised the public to visit the hospitals only in case of emergency and asked to use face masks and maintain physical distancing.

Minister for Health Eatala Rajender on Wednesday interacted with the Junior Doctors' Association and Resident doctors association who asked the minister to provide PPE kits to all doctors even in out-patient department to avoid exposure to the virus.
