A third-year BTech student committed suicide on Friday evening at his home in Bhimadevarapalli of Warangal urban district after failing in a supplementary exam.

Nishanth (21) who was pursuing engineering in a college in Hyderabad had gone to his hometown a few days ago. Meanwhile, Nishanth got to know that he failed in the supplementary exam following which he slipped into depression.

On Friday, Nishanth hanged himself to the ceiling fan at his home when his parents went out. He was found dead by his mother after she returned home from work in the evening.

He is the second son of Ramesh and Rani, who are the natives of Vangara village.

Vangara SI Upendar registered a case and sent the body to Huzurabad government hospital for post-mortem.
