Hyderabad: Coaching centers for TSPSC exams crestfallen
- Students are stepping back from the coaching centers as there is clear ‘NO’ from KCR in regard to government job vacancies notifications
- The centres are now motivating students not to get disheartened but to target other examinations conducted by UPSC, banks, LIC etc
Hyderabad: Coaching centers that train students for various competitive examinations, especially Telangana State Public Service Commission, anticipate a big drop in admissions for coaching. Students are stepping back from the coaching centers as there is clear 'NO' from KCR in regard to government job vacancies notifications. The centers are now motivating students not to get disheartened but to target other examinations conducted by UPSC, banks, LIC, etc.
"Unlike usual, there is a little fall in the number of students coming to us for coaching, but we are motivating students to appear for central government vacancies. Though competing with the North Indians is tough, institutions are giving their best to help aspirants get top scores," said Pragya of Narayana IAS Academy, Ashok Nagar.
"Situation of coaching centers solely focusing on TSPSC is very worse. At least students in Andhra have hope for notification, but with the recent open statements of KCR, the students of Telangana are completely disheartened. Previously, we had footfalls of 100 to 250 students for every batch, But now we have only 15 students each batch," said Reddyappa Reddy, Sai IAS Academy, Ameerpet.
"In terms of numbers, normally Telangana has a low rate of students preparing for competitive examinations. But, after the recent statements of KCR in the assembly, there is a drastic fall of students joining the coaching centers for preparations of competitive examinations conducted by TSPSC," said M Mallesham, Naharjuna Study Circle, Ashok Nagar.
"Our coaching center has observed an 80% drop this year. Till the last elections, students had a hope that the Telangana government might release notifications at any time. Gradually, the hope was fading away and with the statement of KCR in the assembly, students are not even willing to take up any competitive examinations. We had close to 15 branches, but we would up two branches recently," said V Prasad, Spark Academy, Sri Ram Nagar.
