Hyderabad: The health condition of the software professional, who tested positive for COVID-19, is stable, according to doctors.

He has a pneumonia patch, but the doctors said his condition is not critical. The 24-year old techie is being treated in an isolation ward on the second floor at Gandhi hospital.

Meanwhile, health authorities reached out to all the primary contacts who got in touch with the techie during his stay in the city from February 22.

Samples of 45 persons, including seven from family, nine doctors and medical staff in Apollo, Secunderabad, and another seven bus passengers were collected and reports are awaited.

Until Monday, Telangana health authorities took samples of 156 persons, out of which only one (the techie) tested positive for the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, sources stated that of the primary contacts more than 60 were found to be asymptomatic while the rest had a mild fever, cough or cold.

" Despite not having symptoms worried primary contacts visited the Gandhi hospital and they were counselled.

However, some of them were insisting on sample testing and as such, we decided to go ahead with the process as this was a special case," a senior official from the hospital said.
