CLP leader Mallu Vikramarka says the number of days decided by BAC for discussion on the budget is not enough

Hyderabad: The Congress Legislature Party on Friday demanded the ruling party to hold the current budget session for 30 days to discuss various issues being faced by people of various sections of the State.

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka who attended the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly which met on Friday, said that there was a need to discuss issues of farmers, irrigation, unemployed youth, Law and Order, liquor policy and others.

He said that the issues should be discussed under short discussions during the session. The number of days being decided by BAC for discussion on the budget was not enough. However, the ruling party leaders said that another meeting of the BAC would be held on Sunday to discuss the demand.

Meanwhile, the CLP met under the chairmanship Vikramarka and discussed the strategy to be adopted in the Assembly. All the six MLAs of Congress and one MLC have participated in the meeting.

The meeting has decided to divide the issues between the MLAs in the Assembly. Vikramarka and Sridhar Babu would discuss the issues of unemployed and farmers.

Jagga Reddy would discuss housing issues, Rajagopal Reddy would take up municipalities, irrigation, belt shops, Seethakka would take up Education and Tribal Welfare, and Veeraiah would discuss the issues of the tribals. MLC T Jeevan Reddy would raise the issues in Legislative Council.

Vikramarka advised his colleagues to gather information on the issues which have been assigned. He said that the MLAs should go deep into the issues and expose the failures of the government.

It is also decided that each MLA and MLC should go to at least seven segments and examine the issues after the end of the sessions of the Assembly.

The meeting of the Congress MLAs and MLC felt that issues of farmers should be raised prominently in the Assembly.

They said that the government failed to implement crop loan waiver and Rythu Bandhu scheme was not implanted properly.

The ruling party failed to keep its promises like monthly allowance to unemployed, distribution of three acres land to Dalits and STs, and several others.

The Congress should question the government on the failure in keeping the promises. It should bring pressure on the government on making a resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Population Registry.
