GHMC area accounts for 37 in 42 new cases in the State

Hyderabad: Discharged Covid-19 cases are nearing the 1000 mark in Telangana while new cases continue to rise in GHMC limits.

On Sunday, 42 new cases were confirmed taking the total tally to 1,551 thus far. Also, 21 patients were discharged. Till now 992 patients were sent home from hospitals. No deaths were reported while the active cases figure stood at 525.

Among the fresh positive cases, GHMC limits accounted 37 while three were migrants and two cases came from Ranga Reddy district.

SBI staff from Puranapul were shifted to Nature Cure Hospital, Begumpet after it was learnt one account holder who visited the branch three days earlier tested positive. As many as 13 bank staff members including general manager and others from this branch came under the district health officials scanner. Sample tests were done on all of them and fortunately all of them tested negative.

Meanwhile, in data analysis done by the State Health department, males outnumbered females in positive cases. While 947 males were infected with the virus, women comprised 566.
