Patancheru: Public representatives attending a broad-based meeting of the local mandal parishad meeting on Monday expressed their ire towards the HMDA and the Pollution Control Board officials for their absence at the meeting.

Sarpanch Neelam Madhu Mudiraj took the officials to task for their shortcomings with regard to tanks and determining buffer zone. MPP Sushmasri, who presided, and ZPTC Member Supraja advised the officials public representatives and officials to strive for solving problem with coordinated approach. The sarpanches and MPTCs called upon AE Sammayya to change his style of functioning and respond to problems. They called for special care to ensure that there were no power problems during the ensuing summer.

Sarpanch Madhu and MPTC Gaddam Srisailam brought to the notice of Tahsildar Mahipal Reddy that flaws were occurring in the management of tanks, determining the Shikam limits of kuntas as also the buffer zone. He pointed out that because of wrong markings by HMDA beyond the Shikam limits, middle classes were suffering. They advised the Irrigation, Revenue and HMDA staff to work in coordination for carrying out surveys to determine the actual limits.

The tahsildar informed the meeting that only the civil supplies department issues were to be taken up at the meeting according to the department regulations. On other issues, he said they only could be discussed without taking legal action. Reddy stated that any issue pertaining to the revenue department could be brought to his notice for taking timely remedial steps.

Sarpanch Srinivas, who is himself a doctor, raised the issue of posting only one ANM in the Bhanur PHC covering 30,000 population. He called for creation of public awareness on Coronavirus.

MPDO Anand Reddy, while creating awareness to members, handed over free masks to them. Among those present were sarpanches of various villages, MPTC members, officials of various departments and panchayat secretaries.
