Hyderabad: Is RTC rolling out city service from June 1?

Hyderabad: Is the TSRTC contemplating to start bus service in the Hyderabad city, which is under the red zone? The management has reportedly sent letters to the staff to be ready for joining duties when called for. The Corporation has been operating the buses in Green zone districts and with lesser occupancy ratio since May 19. Now the Corporation is contemplating to start the services in the city if the government grants permission for them.

According to the reports, the authorities want to operate buses by following WHO guidelines like maintaining social distancing and sanitising the buses. The officials feel that since the offices are functioning 100 per cent the Corporation could operate buses for the benefit of the office goers.

Apart from this the airports were functioning from Monday and the officials feel that the buses can be operated to transport passengers to the Shamshabad Airport. When asked, a senior official said that no decision has been taken on operating the buses and added that the decision would be taken after government gives green signal.
