The Hyderabad police on Wednesday arrested a woman for selling her two-month-old child for Rs 45,000 to fulfil her dream of going to Mumbai. The incident occurred in Habeebnagar police station limits.

Getting into details, the woman, Shaikh Zoya Khan (22) was staying along after a fight with her husband. The woman had long desired to go to Mumbai but could not fulfil it due to her financial issues. She then decided to sell her baby boy for Rs 45,000 and fulfil her wish.

Upon learning the incident, the woman's husband Abdul Mujaheed approached the police and lodged a complaint. Within 24 hours of the complaint, the police traced the baby and arrested the woman.

Along with the woman, the police also arrested five others -- a family who purchased the baby and a mediator. The police registered a case under juvenile justice act against them.

Meanwhile, the baby was handed over to his father by the police.
