Hyderabad: NALSAR inks MoU with CHSS for studies on security
The scope of activities by the two institutes under this MoU covers internships and fellowships among other things
Hyderabad: Amidst of the growing importance of internal and external security, and allied issues concerning the overall human security issues, the NALSAR University of Law, and the Center for Human Security Studies (CHSS) have joined hands to work together for studies and research.
After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), here on Tuesday, Prof Dr V Balakista Reddy, Registrar and Head, Center for Aerospace and Defence Laws (CADL) of NALSAR said, "NALASR being one of the top law universities in the country has inked an MoU with Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS), India's first mobile think tank on internal security and external affairs of India located at Dr.MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad".
Following the signing of MoU, both the institutions have decided to work in the academic and research fields of – Internal Security of India, International Security, Defence Laws, Water Security and Laws, Health Security and Laws, Cyber Security, Counter-terrorism Mechanisms and Laws, Coastal and Maritime Security and Laws, Indian Foreign Policy, Indian Diaspora Relations.
The scope of activities by the two institutes under this MoU covers internships and fellowships, researcher mobility programmes, joint research, exchange of knowledge resources (faculty, e-resources, etc.), joint workshop series for NALSAR students, collaborative seminar series, visiting lectures, round-table discussions, summer/winter programmes/ workshops/ courses (for emerging scholars), collaborative executive education courses (Executive Certificate Programmes) and resident fellowships and non-resident fellowships, he added.
Prof Balakista Reddy said that the CADL offers masters and diploma courses on aviation, defence and security, space and telecommunication laws, besides a postgraduate course in security and defence laws.
"With innovative and value-added courses and research in Defence and Security laws, we are glad to have an association with Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS), which benefits both the organizations to develop and research on the core issues," he said. Dr RameshKanneganti, founder and executive director of CHSS has signed the MoU.
