Gachibowli: The School of Sciences (Zoology), Maulana Azad National Urdu University organised an extension lecture on Thursday.

Aditya S K, a representative of Animal Ethics, an USA based Non-governmental organization working for the animal ethics and welfare delivered the lecture on "Welfare Biology and Animal Ethics".

The NGO provides information, promote discussion, debate issues in animal ethics and provide resources for animal advocates. It also offers internship and research funding.

Aditya spoke about speciesism and suffering of the wild animals due to various natural and man-made factors. He further expressed his concerns over the suffering of animals and emphasised on the mitigating measures and supporting rescue of animals in need. He requested the interested students to approach the organization for internships or for research funding.

The lecture was attended by students, research scholars and faculty members of school of sciences, MANUU.

Cultural body launched

'Bazm-e-Adab will not only nurture students' multi-faceted talents but will also create a spark in their language and expression. They will be familiar with the usage of proper words and it's," said Professor Beg Ehsas, an eminent writer, and former HOD (Urdu) at UoH, while addressing the inaugural session of Bazm-e-Adab (Literary Academic and Cultural Body of Students) organised by the Department of Urdu, Maulana Azad National Urdu University on Thursday.

The former HOD further said that reading is essential for learning how to write. Students must study the well-known writers of the genre in which they want to write. To become a successful writer or poet, in depth study and practice are the basic prerequisites, he added. The students presented poetry and prose works and articles in the session.
