Telangana state has only one confirmed case of coronavirus. The patient, who is undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, is stable now. No other person has been found to be positive, according to Minister for Health Eatala Rajender.

The State Government, which had gone into high alert mode on Wednesday following reports that a woman techie was found to be infected with coronavirus, heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday as the reports from the National Institute of Virology, Pune, confirmed that all the 13 samples that were sent, including that of the woman techie and a sanitation workers from Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad tested negative.

Another 21 samples of suspected cases were tested at Gandhi Hospital lab and they were found to be negative. Following these developments, the tally of corona infected cases in Telangana remains at one.

Meanwhile, two teams, one from the Centre and another from WHO visited Gandhi Hospital on Thursday. A nine-member joint team from the National Centre for Disease Control and Regional Office, Health and Family Welfare, inspected Covid-19 desk, isolation wards, protective gear being used by doctors and medical staff.

They interacted with the staff on how suspected cases that visit the hospital are accompanied to the dedicated ward, paperwork being done, tests and sample collection procedures.

Later, they had a meeting with Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr Shravan Kumar.

The six-member WHO delegation shared their experiences of China in treating such cases and how it handled the situation.
